Help in prayer by Agner Ebild

The Holy Spirit is our helper when we pray or intercede. It is often difficult to know how to pray rightly, effective or use the appropriate powerful words.

Rom. 8:26 has been a great help to me." In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. “

I just need to let Him lead the prayers time. Sometimes He gives words in English or my native language, Danish; but most often it is in a language I don´t know. As I don´t know what I pray, I have no reason to doubt and stay on the subject of God´s heart. I only have to obey and surrender my tongue to the Spirit.

At salvation a very important ministry of the Holy Spirit took place in your life. But that ministry is different from the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

In the moment you made Jesus the Lord of your life, spiritual death was removed from your spirit, and there was born in you a new life, a new spirit. You were literally born of God. (John 3:3-5 "Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."

"How can someone be born when they are old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother's womb to be born!"

Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.  “Dear friends, we are already God’s children” ).  (1 John 3:2 "Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.").  (1 John 5:1 "Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well."). Without encountering the Holy Spirit, man cannot be born again (Romans 8:9  "You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.").

After you become a new creation, however, it is God’s will that you be baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of power "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;" Apg.1:8a

But when you are baptized in the Holy Spirit you are also able to speak in tongues (Acts 2:4; "All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them." 19:2-7 "While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."

So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?" "John's baptism," they replied.

Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus."

On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.

There were about twelve men in all.").

The baptism in The Holy Spirit is a separate experience the Father desires for you (Luke 11:13. "If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”). Receiving the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is important to a Christian because of the many ways He enables you to be victorious in your life, but also to pray effectively He’s there to help you! It is also more fun to pray with The Holy Spirit in accordance with God´s heart than just to pray to God. The Holy Spirit is also perfect to remind us of the right Scripture to use in prayer or to apply as a foundation of prayer topic.
